Data Tools takes a messy file and gives you a clean one, with a record of what changed. ## Import Upload a CSV or an `.xlsx` workbook. If the workbook has more than one sheet, choose the sheet to use. The first rows are previewed so you can confirm the header row and the delimiter before anything is processed. ## Map the columns Match your columns to the fields the tool expects. Mapping is explicit on purpose: guessing at a column called "Ref" is how the wrong number ends up in the wrong place. ## Clean Common steps are trimming spaces, standardising capitalisation, removing duplicate rows and dropping empty records. Each step is applied in order and you can preview the result before exporting. ## The validation report The report lists what was found and what was fixed: duplicate counts, blank required fields, values that did not match a known format. Download it alongside the cleaned file so the changes are auditable. ## Reconcile against a second file When you have two versions of the same data, the reconciliation view compares them row by row and shows additions, removals and changed values instead of making you eyeball two spreadsheets. ## Export Export the cleaned data as CSV or Excel. The original upload is not modified.
